KOHAT: Peshawar Electric Supply Company consumers in Kohat on Monday gave a one-day deadline to the lawmakers and Pesco to end the intolerable 18 to 20 hours loadshedding, or they would resort to road blockades.

Elders from different areas, including Muhammadzai, Kaghazai, Nasratkhel, Chakarkot, College Town and other areas, also formed a ‘public alliance’ to press the authorities to end the power outages.

They made the decision at a meeting, in which elders from every town and village participated.

They lamented that they had voted for MNA Shehryar Afridi, MPAs Shafi Jan, Daud Afridi and provincial law and finance minister Aftab Alam to solve their problems, but to no avail.

The residents also demanded replacement of the worn-out electricity cables and transformers.
