Three murderers awarded life imprisonment

TAXILA: A local court on Monday awarded life imprisonment to three accused in two different murder cases registered in Wah Saddar and Taxila police station respectively.

In the first case, the court sentenced two robbers to life imprisonment for killing a 22-year-old man at the doorstep of his house in Phase 1 of Wah Model Town in Wah Saddar police station limits on April 19, 2023.

According to the prosecution, the victim identified as Bilal Asghar was attending a phone call on his mobile phone outside his rented house after breaking his fast in Wah Model Town when two robbers attempted to snatched his mobile phone but he resisted subsequently they shot him and fled away. Later police traced the muggers and arrested.

The court also ordered that both the criminals will also pay Rs500,000 each as compensation to the heirs of the deceased besides paying a fine of Rs200,000.

Separately, a murder convict will undergo life imprisonment in a murder case registered against him for killing a man on June 8, 2018 in village Karmwal. The judge also imposed a fine over convicts as damages.

The judge announced his order after recording evidence and final arguments from both the prosecution and defense.
