KHYBER: The special adviser on information to chief minister, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, has said that provincial government will work together with law enforcement and intelligence agencies to nab the culprits involved in the killing of senior tribal journalist Khalil Jibran.

He along with director general information Mohammad Imran visited Landi Kotal on Thursday to offer condolences to the family of the slain journalist and later met local journalists at Landi Kotal Press Club.

Barrister Saif assured local journalists that provincial government would strive to ensure their personal security. He said that the province was faced with tough challenges of security as terrorists were not known to government with the ordinary citizens, police, journalists and security forces rapidly falling prey to acts of terrorism.

“We need to act together and rid the society of this menace,” he said and added that government was serious in eradicating militancy.

Condemning the killing of Khalil Jibran, he termed it a huge tragedy and loss for local journalists. He assured journalists that the chief minister had taken serious notice of the incident and directed the relevant agencies to act promptly while tracking down the real culprits.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner retired Capt Sanaullah Khan also visited the house of the slain journalist and met his two sons. He offered fateha for the departed soul.

He directed the Landi Kotal assistant commissioner to collect relevant documents for a speedy provision of adequate monetary assistance to the family members of Khalil Jibran.
