THATTA, March 20: One man was killed and six others suffered injuries in a clash between two groups over demarcation of a watercourse in Daro town on Monday. The two groups have lodged FIRs against each other. The dispute erupted after the agriculture department earmarked land for a watercourse which was to pass through the land owned by both the groups.

Officials of the agriculture department arrived in the Dachri village, not far from Daro, to earmark land for the watercourse on Monday morning, but they had to leave after the people of the two groups exchanged hot words.

They then went to nearby Daro town where they clashed with each other with batons and axes, killing one Hussain Bux and injuring Yaqoob Jakhro, Azeem Jakhro, Bux Ali Jakhro, Mubin Ali Jakhro, Ghulam Dastagir Dars and Shahnawaz Dars.

The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital, Makli, and the Rural Health Centre, Daro. Condition of two of the injured is stated to be serious.
