GUJRAT: Police claimed on Thursday to have traced and arrested suspects involved in the murder of a 25-year old employee of a mobile bakery network during a road robbery in Dheerkey Kalan village of Saddar police precincts.

One of the suspects was arrested from Pakistan’s border with Iran whereas the other was arrested from a hospital in Gujranwala where he was admitted.

SI Fawad Saleem, the spokesman for Gujrat police, said Rehman Arshad of Dheerkey Kalan village had been working as driver with a bakery items chain. He said on May 26 he along with other staff members was travelling to Gurala. When their vehicle reached near Dheerkey Kalan village, some unidentified robbers riding a motorbike intercepted them. The robbers shot Rehman dead on the spot and fled the scene.

Gujrat DPO Mustanser Atta Bajwa had tasked the Saddar police to trace and arrest the suspects after which a police team started working on it and traced the suspects, the spokesman said and added that one suspect Ali Hassan was arrested from a Gujranwala hospital whereas the other suspect was arrested from border area with Iran where he had gone to flee the country.
