KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi paid tributes to renowned actor and comedian Ayaz Khan.

The event began with a showreel presentation highlighting Mr Khan’s illustrious artistic career, captivating the audience.

Arts Council president Ahmed Shah, Dr Huma Mir, Iqbal Latif, Saadat Ali Jafri, Shehzad Raza Naqvi, Amjad Shah, Ahmed Arsalan, Islahuddin, Kashif Khan, Salomi, Khalid Zafar, Babar Abbasi, Muhammad Ali Shehki, Ali Gul Mallah, Ali Raza, Ayub Khoso, Ghazali Javed, Saleem Iqbal, Faisal Qazi, Sharafat, Iqbal Shah, Saleem Javed and Rauf Lala attended the event, which was moderated by Nouman Khan.

Ahmed Shah praised Ayaz Khan’s significant contributions to the entertainment industry, emphasising his ability to bring joy and laughter to audiences.

“Ayaz Khan has been a beacon of light in the entertainment industry for decades, bringing smiles to countless faces,” he said and noted his four-decade-long relationship with Ayaz Khan, who is also a member of the Arts Council’s governing body.

Amjad Shah commended Ahmed Shah for revitalising the Arts Council, which now unites writers, artists, and poets.

He also praised Ayaz Khan for excelling in scriptwriting and stand-up comedy while maintaining cultural decorum.

Huma Mir expressed admiration for Mr Khan’s career, emphasising his unique ability to evoke laughter.

Saadat Ali Jafri praised Mr Khan’s distinctive acting style and long-standing contribution to the arts.

“My association with Ayaz Khan is fifty years old. I pay tribute to his services and thank everyone who helped make this event possible,” he said.

Mr Khan expressed gratitude to the Arts Council for honouring him, appreciating the tradition of recognising artists during their lifetimes.

He thanked Mr Shah and the attendees for their support and recognition.
