TAXILA: A court sentenced a man to death on Monday in a murder case registered against him in 2021 in the limits of Hazro Police station.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs300,000 on the convict as damages. According to the FIR registered under section 302 and 311 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) at Hazro police station, the convict shot dead a man over old enmity and fled away.

Later Police arrested him from his hideout through human and digital intelligence.

During the trial, the prosecution produced substantial evidence against the accused which established involvement of him in the murder.

The judge after hearing the arguments of defence and prosecution counsels announced the verdict.

Teenager assaulted

A man has molested a 15-year-old boy in the exchange for lending him some money in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station on Monday, police spokesman said.

According to the police spokesman, the suspect took the boy to his house where he sexually assaulted him. The boy was taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) where medical examination confirmed the assault.

Police arrested the suspect after the registration of FIR on the complaint of his uncle besides launching further investigation.
