LAHORE: Tensions erupted at Children’s Hospital when doctors allegedly beat the attendants of Abubakar, 9, who died due to alleged negligence of doctors.

The boy’s relatives protested by placing the body on Ferozepur Road.

Reports say the doctors detained Abubakar’s father and brother in a room and beat them and later called the police, who arrested the family members.

Abubakar’s body lay unattended for hours as the doctors refused to hand it over to the family. This prompted the relatives to protest the doctors’ behaviour. The relatives accused the doctors of negligence and criminal actions.

The young doctors claimed they acted in self-defence after being attacked.
