SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Two persons, including a policeman, riding a motorcycle received injuries when unidentified gunmen opened fire at them on Wana-Kari Kot Road here on Tuesday evening.

Lower South Waziristan district police officer Farmanullah said the attackers were onboard a vehicle.

He said as a result of the firing a policeman and a civilian received serious injuries and were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Wana.

The injured were identified as a police havaldar Nawaz Wazir, who was posted to Wana city police station, and a civilian, Mohammad Noor.

DPO Farmanullah said the police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported, cordoned off the area and started a search for the attackers.
