BAJAUR: The much-awaited asphalt work on a five-kilometre-long Umary-Sewai Road in Mamond tehsil started on Sunday.
Former PTI MNA Gul Zafar Khan opened the work during a ceremony.
It is pertinent to mention here that Gul Zafar had also opened the work on the road back in October 2021.
The road project faced delay owing to shortage of funds.
Speaking on the occasion, Gul Zafar expressed regret over the delayed start of the road project, which was initially planned to be completed by June 2022.
Mr Zafar cited lack of funds for delay in completion of road, which would connect War Mamond tehsil to rest of the district.
He said now the provincial government had released funds for the purpose. He said asphalt work on the road would be completed in a few days.
