LAHORE: US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome called on Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz here on Thursday and said America wanted to work more closely with the Punjab government for poverty alleviation and economic development.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said: “Only a stable government can bring Pakistan out of the current economic crisis.”

“We will provide a safe environment for American investment in Punjab. It has a rich investment potential in the fields of agriculture, industry and IT,” she said and resolved to capitalise on the longstanding Pakistan-US economic relations.

She said the government’s economic policies were helping to reduce inflation.

“We have devised a comprehensive strategy to provide quality education, healthcare facilities and cheap bread to the people.”
