SUKKUR: Dacoits kidnapped two men when they were guarding a field of wheat along link road within the limits of Rustam police station in Shikarpur last night, according to family.
Villagers said Mir Jagirani and Maula Bakhsh Brohi had gone to the field to keep watch by turns during the night, but they went missing in the morning without a trace.
The victims’ relatives feared that both men had been kidnapped as their mobile phone numbers had also remained switched off since they had gone missing.
The area police said they had started investigation as soon as they received information about the suspected kidnapping. They were trying to trace them through their mobile phone locations.
Meanwhile, a primary teacher, Abdul Ghafar Channa, and his young daughter were subjected to violence by a gang of dacoits when he resisted their attempt to rob him of his motorcycle and other valuables in a Ghotki village on Thursday.
The teacher was returning home from his school, along with his young daughter, on a motorcycle when the gang intercepted him. The dacoits robbed him of motorcycle, cash, mobile phone, and other valuable items, said the victim.
He told local reporters that the police had not taken any action against the robbers despite being informed about the incident in time. The victim appealed to police officials concerned to get his stolen motorcycle and other valuables recovered and returned to him.
