LOWER DIR: The acting chairman of board of intermediate and secondary education (BISE) Malakand, Mohammad Naseem Khan, on Thursday suspended the supervisory staff of three examination centres for girls over their involvement in circulating papers in Whatsapp groups.

He also banned use of mobile phones by supervisory staff in the examination halls. In three separate notifications issued by him, it was stated that duties of superintendents and deputy superintendents of centres in Mian Brangola, Badwan and Koto in the ongoing SSC examinations had been cancelled immediately.

The notification said that the action was taken against the staff for planned negligence of sharing papers on Whatsapp soon after 9am from the centres.

Talking to journalists, Naseem Khan said that he along with his inspection team paid surprise visits to the three centres where it was confirmed that the papers were being shared in various Whatsapp groups.

He said that the rest of the staff would also be dealt with strictly in case of any such negligence during the examinations.

He rejected social media posts about papers’ leak and termed it baseless. He said that smooth examinations were in progress in a peaceful environment and there were no proofs about papers’ leak.
