SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The government employees in newly-established Lower South Waziristan district have complained that they face problems in getting salaries as the accounts office is located in Tank.

They said that the process of bifurcation of South Waziristan into two separate districts was quite slow that caused problems to government employees as staffers of district accounts office were not ready to work in their own district.

The district accounts officer, when contacted, said that the accounts office worked in Tank owing to slow process of bifurcation of the district. He said that the office had not received system application and programme (SAP) from the office of accountant general, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Awami National Party leader Ayaz Wazir told journalists that after establishment of a separate district of Lower South Waziristan, there was no justification for the district accounts office to work in another district.

He urged the authorities concerned to expedite the process and provide the necessary system, equipment and staff to district accounts office to resolve the problems of employees of line departments in Lower South Waziristan district.
