The Israeli prime minister has issued a statement condemning the “murder” of the teenage Israeli settler Benjamin Ahimayer, who was declared missing, Al Jazeera reports.

“The heinous murder of the youth Benjamin Ahimayer, may he rest in peace, is a grave crime. I send heartfelt condolences to his family,” Netanyahu said.

He added that Israeli forces “are engaged in an extensive pursuit of the despicable murderers and anyone who collaborated with them”.

Netanyahu also called on Israelis to allow the forces to conduct their operations so they can “bring the abhorrent murderers to justice swiftly”.
