Adding plants to our homes not only benefits the environment, but also enhances our house’s indoor atmosphere with green aesthetics. While typical clay pots serve the same purpose, why not come up with more artistic options and bring out the best in both the plants and the overall aesthetic of our living space?

Let’s craft one from the plastic bottle and add a touch of charm with jute rope.

Things you need:

  1. Plastic bottle (large)

  2. Jute rope

  3. Jute cloth piece

  4. Hot glue gun

  5. Double tape

  6. Scissors or paper cutter

Directions

  1. Mark the bottle five to six inches above the bottom; this is the length of our planter. Then, with the help of an adult, cut it out as shown in pictures 2 and 3.

  2. Leave the bumpy part at the bottom of the bottle. Apply double-sided tape around the top part, picture 4.

  3. Cover the portion with double-sided tape by firmly wrapping jute rope around it, pictures 5 and 6.

  4. Create two braids: one according to the diameter of the bottle, and the other at least 18 inches long, to hang it anywhere using jute rope, picture 7.

  5. For flower petals, use a jute rope or vibrant-coloured cloth, picture 8.

  6. Paste the shorter braid to the top edge of the bottle pot, and then paste petals, as shown in picture 9.

  7. Make two parallel holes in the pot and insert the longer braid from both sides, picture 10.

  8. The pot is now ready. Fill it with flowers or leafy plants, hang it anywhere or place it on the desk. It will add a touch of true leafy beauty to your home!
