Counterfeit drug factory sealed

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap) conducted a joint raid at a factory in Ghouri Town where counterfeit medicines were being manufactured.

The factory was sealed after recovery of a huge quantity of fake and counterfeit medicines.

FIA Assistant Director Nauman Khalil and Drug Controller Naveed Anwar, inspectors Mansoor Latif, Gul Zeb Khan and others took part in the raid.

Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Circle FIA Afzal Khan Niazi has formed teams to arrest the suspects involved in running the factory.

He also directed FIA officials to launch a crackdown against such factories operating in Islamabad.
