MANSEHRA: Three people were killed and two sustained critical injuries when a passenger vehicle plunged into a deep ravine in Gagala Nullah area of Lower Kohistan district.

“We have retrieved the bodies and the injured and shifted them to a nearby health facility,” Sajid Ali, district head of Rescue 1122, told reporters.

He said that the vehicle carrying passengers was on its way to Chilas area from Swat, when the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a sharp turn. The vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine.

Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted the injured and the deceased to the Pattan Civil Hospital. The deceased were identified as Saeed Anwar, a resident of Shangla district, Sher Mohammad of Diamer and Anayat Shafee of Lower Dir. Shaukat Ali of Swat and Shahjehan of Basha area of Upper Kohistan were referred to the Ayub Medical Complex Hospital in Abbottabad.
