LAKKI MARWAT: Four people, including a woman, were killed and 20 others injured when a tractor-trolley overturned due to brake failure near Wanda Miralam village here on Sunday.

A Rescue 1122 official said the accident occurred on Darra Tang-Chasma Road. “The driver lost control over the wheel on a steep road due to brake failure, and the tractor overturned,” he said.

The official said four people died in the accident, and the injured, including women and children, were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Isakhel town of Punjab by the rescue teams of Lakki Marwat and Isakhel.

The official said the people were going to Billot Sharif in DI Khan from Kamar Mashani town of Mianwali in the tractor-trolley.

Meanwhile, the police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two persons suspected of assaulting a minor student in Bittani subdivision of Lakki Marwat district.

On Feb 26, the men took a minor student of a private school to a house on their motorcycle and committed obscene acts with him.

The victim had told the police that one of the men was his relative, who along with his accomplice picked him from outside the school to drop him at home. “But they took me to another house where they assaulted me,” he said.

Acting on a tip-off, a party of Azadkhel police station raided a suspected hideout and arrested the men, identified as Waseem and Asif.
