TAXILA: A woman was arrested on Tuesday on the charge of murdering her father in Tajak village in the Hazro town of Attock.

According to police sources, a dead body of Essa Khan, a native of Tajak village in the limits of Rango Police Station, was brought to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hazro on Friday with a bullet injury.

The family of the victim attributed the man’s death to suicide.

Later, during the autopsy, it was determined that the bullet injury was not due to suicide, as the bullet was fired from a distance. Police, through human intelligence, picked up the married daughter of the victim, who, during interrogation, confessed to murdering her father.

The police attributed the murder to a family feud and registered a murder case against the woman. They also recovered the pistol used in the murder.

Meanwhile, Taxila Police arrested a suspect wanted in the attempted murder case on Tuesday and declared him a proclaimed offender (PO) as he went underground after attempting to murder a man over some feud in last year.

According to the police spokesman, Ahmed Ullah shot and injured Haji Khan over some dispute and went underground.

Subsequently, he was declared a PO by the local court of law. On Tuesday, acting on a tip, a police party raided his hideout and arrested him.
