LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars’ fast bowler Haris Rauf was on Sunday ruled out of the remaining games of the ongoing Pakistan Super League due a shoulder injury he suffered during a PSL match on Saturday.

Right-armer Haris dislocated his shoulder while taking a difficult catch during a crucial stage of the night game against Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium.

A spokesman of Qalandars said that the 30-year-old Haris had been ruled out of the remaining PSL 9 matches.

According to team director Sameen Rana, Qalandars were relieved to know that the pacer did not sustain a major injury.

“The team does not want to push our ace fast bowler into action as he is a national asset,” Rana said.

Also on Sunday, Quetta Gladiators’ wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed had a concussion during the day game against Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

A spokesman of Gladiators, however, confirmed that Sarfaraz’s CT scan came clear.

In a regrettable incident occurred during Sunday’s game between Sultans and Gladiators, family members of former Test cricketers Moin Khan, Mohammad Amir and Umar Amin faced inappropriate behaviour from the Multan city administration officials.

It emerged that the said family members were asked to vacate the players’ family box for some local top government officials.

A Gladiators official on the condition of anonymity told Dawn from Multan that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had made other arrangements for the families.

The official said that Moin’s wife, Amir’s wife with their two infant daughters and Umar’s spouse carrying a six-month daughter were disturbed at the unusual development and protested. However, the high government official of the city did not allow them to sit inside the box.
