PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority has announced it will carry out a drive across the province from Feb 26 to March 9 to register traders on their doorstep for sales tax payments.

The initiative comes on the directives of KPRA director-generalFouzia Iqbal, according to an official statement issued here on Friday. Under the drive, the KPRA teams will go to the premises of services sector businesses for sales tax registration.

“Taxpayers are our stakeholders and their utmost facilitation is our top priority. We are conducting the registration drive to facilitate our people and to ease their work. Anyone associated with the services sector can take advantage of the registration drive by registering their business with the KPRA,” Ms Iqbal said.

She added that the KPRA teams would visit business premises - a step to facilitate them for sales tax registration.

“Our teams will be available to provide on-the-spot registration or any other assistance relating to registration, tax payments, and monthly returns filing with the KPRA. People can also directly contact the KPRA by WhatsApp and telephone or visit its website to get information regardingregistration or sale tax on services,” she said.

The KPRA DG said under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sales Tax on Services Act, 2022, sales tax on services was mandatory for every business owner providing services in the province.

She said as the payment of sales tax on services was obligatory to register businesses, the registration drive was meant to provide the facility to the business community on their doorstep.

“All they need to do is to cooperate with the teams visiting their business premises. Their cooperation will be instrumental in the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and our future generation,” she said.
