TAXILA: A 13-year-old body foiled a bid for sexual assault while a married woman was abducted in two different incidents within the limits of Taxila and Wah Cantonment Police Stations, police sources said.

In the first incident, an 8th grade student reported to police that he was on his way home after purchasing food items in the village of Khurrum Paracha when a man of the same locality, identified as Javaid Khan, took him to a deserted place and tried to sexually assault him.

The boy added that he voiced an alarm, and the suspect fled from the scene successfully.

Separately, Shabbir Ahmed has reported to the police that his wife was going to her parents’ house when she was abducted by an unknown person within the limits of Wah Cantonment Police Station on Monday.

Respective police have registered two separate cases and launched further investigations.

Moreover, Taxila Police on Monday busted a gang known as the “Nani Gang” involved in robberies, street crimes, and snatching and arrested three members of the gang.

As per a police spokesman, acting on a tip, the police raided the hideout of the gang and arrested Yosaf, Qasim, and ring leader Husnain, alias Nani.

The police also recovered the looted booty, including cash, snatched cell phones, and weapons used in various crimes. Moreover, during preliminary interrogation, the robbers confessed their involvement in criminal activities.
