GWADAR: Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar on Wednesday emphasised the significance of public sector universities in the region in obtaining information and conducting research rooted in modern knowledge and strategic planning.

During a discussion with Dr Abdul Razaaq Sabir, the Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University, Mr Kakar highlighted the potential for development of the coastal region of Balochistan, particularly Gwadar.

“It is necessary to make the world aware of the profitable opportunities and bright possibilities of commercial development in the coastal region of the province so that the international community can be attracted towards investment here due to such opportunities and possibilities,” he said.

He suggested that a national-level seminar, supported by relevant experts in the fields of economy and commercial activities, should be organised.

“Experts and officials of Pakistan Navy are already rendering important services in this regard and, therefore, their knowledge, observation and experience should be utilised by the government,” he said.
