ISLAMABAD: A group of 14 trainee officers from National Institute of Management (NIM) Islamabad visited Sialkot and Lahore as part of their training programme.

According to a press release issued here on Sunday, Muhammad Masood Ahmad headed the trainee officers during the visit which was a part of 34th Senior Management Course currently in progress at NIM Academy, Islamabad.

The group comprised officers from different occupational groups.

During the visit, the delegation members visited Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Sialkot international airport, besides visiting and meeting representatives of sports goods and surgical industries.

The delegation members also visited Akhuwat College University in Kasur and Orange Line Train Project in Lahore.

Such visits are undertaken by the NIM for trainee officers to give them practical knowledge and skill beyond classroom environment.

The purpose of the recent study tour was also to provide the participants an opportunity to get on practical experiences and enhance their knowledge about functioning of public service organisations and private institutions working in diversified socio cultural environment.

During their visit to the private sector entities in Sialkot and Lahore, the group members got an opportunity to see their working and success stories and, if needed, replicate them in the public sector.

The NIM Islamabad is a constituent unit of National School of Public Policy and plays a pivotal role in training and capacity building of the civil servants of Pakistan.

It assists in personality development and enhance communication, interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills so as to improve effectiveness and decision making at the operational and tactical level, besides enhancing knowledge of the Rules of Business and the government’s administrative structures generally at the strategic levels and more specifically at the operational levels.
