TAXILA: Two persons were killed in separate incidents in Attock district on Monday, police and rescue sources said.

According to sources, a 21-year-old man took his life by hanging himself with a ceiling fan in Chukra village in the limits of Hassanabdal police station.

Police, while quoting the family of the victim, said that Mohammad Sadeeq was in distress due to unemployment and poor financial condition.

Later, police shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.

In the second incident, a teenage boy drowned while taking bath in river Indus in the limits of Attock Khurd police station.

Rescue sources said that 13-year-old Tasleem Rehman came from Talagang along with his family and friendsfor a picnic at river Indus.

Later Rescue 1122 retrieved his body and shifted him to district headquarters hospital Attock.

Respective police have registered separate cases and launched further investigation.

Robbers arrested

Taxila Police on Monday arrested four robbersand recovered looted items from their possession.

According to the police spokesman, the looted items included cash, five motorcycles and mobile phones.

He said that during preliminary interrogation, the robbers confessed to having committed various robberies and street crimes in the area.
