ISLAMABAD: Sarah Mehboob won the ladies singles title while Ahmed Nael clinched the U-18 boys crown in the Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Championship here at the SDA-PTF Tennis Complex on Saturday.

Sarah comfortably defeated Sheeza Sajid 6-4, 6-1 in the ladies decider while Ahmed outplayed Hamza Roman 6-3, 6-1 to lift the U-18 boys trophy.

The men’s final between Aqeel Khan and Moham­mad Shoaib will be played on Sunday.

In the semi-finals, Aqeel outclassed Mohammad Abid 6-4, 6-0 while Shoaib was declared winner against Mudassir Murtaza who retired hurt after losing the first set 6-4.

Meanwhile, Abdul Basit got the better of Moha­mmad Haziq Aasim 4-0, 1-4, 5-4(1) and Mohammad Hassan Usmani tamed Hazik Areejo 4-2, 4-0 in the U-14 boys semi-finals.

In the U-12 boys/girls singles semi-finals, Rashid Ali Bachani beat Razik Sultan 4-2, 4-0 and Shayan Afridi triumphed over Ahmed Hussain 5-3, 4-0.
