ISLAMABAD: The police department on Saturday conducted a psychological test of the officials of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to assess their mental stress and condition, behavior, religious and sectarian inclinations, along with violent tendency, officials told Dawn.
The officials said that psychological test of the officials were conducted to maintain and prepare the profile of the officials attached with the CTD through written and verbal tests.
The tests were designed as per the international standard and were conducted by a panel, including psychologists, they added.
The tests were conducted over some complaints and concern raised by relevant stakeholders over mental stress and violent tendency, the officials said, adding that the identified officials and officers had undergone the test.
During a month-long exercise, mental condition of 489 officers and officials was evaluated, they said, adding that out of the total, 33 officials were found suffering from depression and needed immediate medical assistance.
In this regard, instructions were issued to provide medical assistance to them, they added.
Besides, four officials urgently needed counseling, the officials said, adding that two officials were needed medical assistance and in this regard they were hospitalised to remain under the observation of doctors.
On the light of the results of the psychological test, some officials of CTD were also transferred to other divisions and units, they said, adding that under instruction these officials were given easy, unstressed and less important duties.
The results of majority of the officers and officials were positive, they added.
