KOHAT: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has said that it is a universal truth that no country can develop and prosper without maintenance of peace.

He was addressing as an alumnus the 58th parents’ day ceremony at Cadet College Kohat on Thursday. He said that education was an undefeatable weapon with which the developed countries had conquered the world.

He said that parents and teachers were the most important partners as they played key role in shaping and designing the future of students.

He said that modern education, science and technology, guaranteed prosperity of a nation.

Kakar advises Cadet College Kohat students to concentrate on education

The prime minister said the educated youth imbedded with high moral values could ensure a bright future for their homeland in the age of competition. He said that students should concentrate on getting modern education to enable them to cope with the challenges of the new competitive world.

He also paid rich tributes to his late teachers and attributed his success and assumption of current responsibilities to them.

He prevailed upon the cadets that as the reigns of the country were in their hands they had to act consistently with earnest and conscientious activity intended to achieve their goals.

Mr Kakar also asked parents to make their children tolerant and honest human beings to establish a harmonious and peaceful society.

Addressing the function, he vividly recalled the nostalgic times spent in the cadet college in 1984. He said that his life was reshaped by the teachers at his alma mater.

He said that he was delighted that the guidelines laid by the founding members of the college were still being practiced owing to the efforts of the faculty as prescribed by the principal in secondary and intermediate results.

The prime minister said that being from the backward province of Balochistan, his successful journey was never reversed. He advised the cadets that although hard times would come in their lives, they had to cross the Rubicon with relentless hard work to become what they wanted in their life.

His speech mostly revolved around his life in the college.

He recalled the services of late principal of the college, Mirza Khurshed Anwar Beg, and his teachers late Laal Bad Shah, Sadiqullah, Manzoor Husain, Abdul Hayee, Gul Khan and others.

He prayed for the long life of Shafique, Nisar Mohammad, IT Willams and Shams.

In a lighter mood, he said that the house Baba used to be the eyes and years of Mirza Khursheed as would report every activity of students to him.

The prime minister said that besides materialistic achievements through curriculum activities, teachers should guide the souls and hearts of cadets by coaching them to brace competitive strength in the rapidly developing world.

The principle of Cadet College Kohat, retired Brig Tufail Mohammad Khan, said that the college had provided the best possible education and training facilities to students due to which they always gave the best results.
