BAHAWALPUR: A minor girl and a boy were allegedly raped in separate incidents here.

As per Lodhran police spokesman, complainant ‘S’ said his daughter was playing with children in the street in Maulaiwala locality on Tuesday when she suddenly disappeared.

The family and locals launched a search and heard cries of the girl from a house. The suspect [a neighbour] allegedly raped her and managed his escape.

The girl was shifted to Kahror Pucca THQ hospital in a critical condition.

City Kahror Pucca police have registered a case under section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code against the suspect with no arrest.

In another incident, a seven-year old boy was allegedly raped by a man at village Karampur in Mailsi police precincts on Wednesday.

According to Station House Officer Abdul Jabbar, the boy ‘S’ was on his way to the bazaar when he was lured by suspect ‘A’ who took him to a nearby place and raped her.

The police on the complaint of victim’s father have registered a case.

Vehari District Police Officer Essa Khan took notice of the incident and claimed to have arrested the suspect.

ARRESTED: Lodhran Saddar DSP Mahar Ishaque at a press conference on Wednesday claimed to have arrested suspect Arshad Ataira of village Gpogran for allegedly raping four boys.

He told the media that during previous days, police received reports of rape of four boys by an unidentified man. In response, the DSP said, District Police Officer Hissan Bin Iqbal formed a team led by him. The team arrested the suspect who confessed to his crime.

According to the DSP, the suspect was already wanted in four cases - two in Lodhran city police station, one each at Saddar and Qureshiwala police station.

SENTENCE: An anti-terrorist court (ATC) in Multan on Wednesday handed down life imprisonment to two suspects Shehzad and Yousaf in kidnap for ransom case.

Besides, the ATC awarded two-year rigorous imprisonment each to suspects’ accomplices Bilal and Hashim while another two Zahid and Turab were sentenced to one-and-a-half-year jail term each.

All six had been arrested in a kidnap for ransom case last year.
