SAHIWAL: Area Magistrate Rao Zubair Sabir on Wednesday reprimanded and issued show-cause notices to the City police station house officer and the traffic DSP for arresting and registering case against five students under the age of 18 under Section 99 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965.

On Wednesday, the city police presented Salman, Amir, Zeeshan, Ali Hasan, and Shafiq for remand. However, the judge snubbed Junior Traffic Warder Muhammad Zaman, stating that all FIRs had been registered with identical content and accusations.

The judge criticised the traffic police for merely obeying orders from the authorities without following proper rules in booking the students, which could affect their future careers. The judge recommended disciplinary action against both officers under Police Order C-155 and sought further investigation under section 166.

The section 166 allows for proceedings against a public servant who knowingly disobeys any lawful directive pertaining to his conduct as a public servant.
