ITA tennis next week

ISLAMABAD, Feb 17: The Islamabad Tennis Academy (ITA) junior hardcourt tournament is due to open next week, organisers announced on Friday.

Mushaf K. Zia, Director of the Academy said that the event was being staged as part of ITA’s policy to promote tennis at the junior level.

“This tournament is held every six weeks but this time it was delayed because of childrens’ exams,” said Mushaf, a former Davis Cup player.

The organisers expect a heavy entry of players for the Feb 23-26 tournament which is to take place at the ITA premises.

The events to be contested are boys’ 11 and under (singles), boys’ 13 and under (singles), boys’ 17 and under (singles and doubles) and ladies singles.
