PESHAWAR: Traders have asked private airlines to introduce new schemes and take appropriate steps to facilitate them.

The demand was made by Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Fuad Ishaq during a meeting with officials of Emirates Airlines here on Tuesday.

According to a statement, the airline’s team was headed by senior sales officer Faraz Ahmad and sales executive Azam Jan.

The SCCI chief said the private airlines should facilitate business community under corporate social responsibility. He said that it would improve the image and public trust of airlines.

SCCI vice president Ijaz Khan Afridi, senior member Fazl Muqeem and secretary general Sajjad Aziz were also present in the meeting. Both sides on the occasion agreed to take joint initiatives for facilitating business community and offering special incentives to it.

Fuad Ishaq said that SCCI and Emirates Airlines should initiate joint measures to provide facilities and incentives to traders under corporate social responsibility.

He suggested introduction of special loyalty cards and display of joint logo of SCCI and Emirates at public and private educational institutions.

“Our topmost priority is to make efforts for provision of maximum facilities to business community, ease of doing businesses and removal of irritants in smooth promotion of businesses, trade and industries in the province,” he added.

Fuad Ishaq said that Emirates Airlines should reach to all members of the chamber and general public so that they could fully benefit from such schemes and customers-friendly initiatives. He said SCCI would extend full cooperation to the airline.

Senior officials of the airline agreed with the proposals of SCCI chief and said that those would be taken up with high level at the airline to ensure further facilitates and incentives to SCCI members in light of the recommendations.
