More dengue patients surface in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: As many as 39 dengue patients were reported in government-run hospitals on Sunday, out of whom two were in critical condition.

With the latest figure, the current year’s tally of dengue patients has risen to 1,576.

No death has so far been reported and a total of 1,481 people have recovered from the disease.

In total, 144 patients are getting treatment in Rawalpindi hospitals and 96 of them were confirmed dengue patients.

As many as 56 patients are in Holy Family Hospital (HFH), 48 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 34 in District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital and six patients were admitted to tehsil headquarters hospitals of Taxila, Wah and Kallar Syedan.

The officials said the health department teams were continuing indoor and outdoor operations.

On Sunday, dengue larvae was detected in 363 houses and 21 outdoor spots.
