PESHAWAR: Unknown persons ‘abducted’ a trader from the provincial capital’s busiest Saddar Bazaar on Wednesday morning.

The trader, according to CCTV footage from a nearby building shared on social media, can be seen being pushed inside a white car and later driven away to an unknown location.

“We saw in the video that the car is parked on the main road. One person leaves the car and comes back after sometime,” an official said, adding that another person could also be seen pushing the trader inside the car.

“We have obtained the CCTV footage and launched an investigation into the case,” SP Cantonment Waqas Rafiq said in a statement. He said CCTV footages from cameras installed on different routes were also being obtained.
