KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Riffat Mukhtar Raja on Sunday directed his subordinates to ensure deportation of all illegal immigrants as soon as possible.

Chairing a meeting to review an ongoing crackdown on illegal immigrants, smuggling and street crime, he said that comprehensive recommendations should be prepared and sent to the Sindh government in this regard.

He said establishment of a joint task force comprising officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and police should also be made part of the recommendations.

To facilitate the process, allocation of centres at different places should also be included in the recommendations, he added.

Declaring a ‘war on street crime’, the IGP said that the elimination of street criminals must be ensured in all circumstances.

Regarding illegal movement of goods, he said strict supervision and monitoring of transportation from border areas should be ensured.
