LAKKI MARWAT: Seven people, including a proclaimed offender, were killed in separate incidents in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts on Monday, the police said.

A man, identified as Khalid Raza, 27, was found dead along a dirt road in Shakh Adamzai area of Tajori town. He was killed with a firearm. Police said Raza was a PO wanted in a murder case. The body was shifted to a hospital.

Separately, two bullet-riddled bodies were found near a graveyard in Baru area of Lakki. The deceased were identified as Rifatullah, 24, and Mohammad Imtiaz, 19, belonging to Tajazai area.

The police said the deceased had a criminal background. The bodies were taken to the Government City Hospital.

In another incident, a teenage boy was shot dead in Paharkhel Thall area.

Police said Ali Zeb, 17, and his brother, Arshad Ali, 15, were asleep on the rooftop of their shop when three armed men climbed there, and shot dead Zeb.

Separately, body of a man, Ahmad Khan, 34, was found in the fields near Bhangikhel Surani area of Bannu. The deceased was killed with a firearm.

A Rescue 1122 team shifted the body to District Headquarters Hospital.

Also, unknown gunmen killed a man, Ibrahim, and injured his companion, Khanzada in Miryan area.

A young man, Bismanullah, 22, committed suicide in Hindikhel Janikhel area of Bannu.

HOSPITAL SOUGHT: Elders of Sheen Kach area of Bittani subdivision have demanded a hospital and other basic facilities of life.

They made the demand while talking to Lakki deputy commissioner Abdul Hadi on Monday.

An elder said tribesmen had to take patients to hospitals in other parts of the district because of absence of the facility in their locality.

Other elders complained of water shortage. They also demanded establishment of a girl school and provision of electricity to the locality.

Mr Hadi directed the relevant officials to prepare feasibility of projects demanded by elders.

FUNCTION: The education department and the boy scouts association organised a function at a school in Lakki city on Monday to mark the death anniversary of founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

The school’s principal Sher Nawaz Khan presided over the event.

The student speakers said under his able leadership, Quaid-i-Azam had assembled the Muslims of the subcontinent on one platform and won a free and independent homeland from them.

Declaring the life of Jinnah as a role model, the school head said they should work hard to achieve the goal of taking the country to the climax of progress.
