DERA MURAD JAMALI: Three members of the Marri tribe were shot dead and two others sustained injuries in a firearm assault close to Sibi on Tuesday.

Levies officials said that unknown armed men ope­ned indiscriminate fire on a car at Quetta-Sibi natio­nal highway, resulting in death of three persons .

Two people, also belonging to the Marri tribe, were injured in the attack.

“The deceased were travelling towards Sibi in a car which was targeted by armed men using automatic weapons,” a senior Levies official said, adding that all three men were killed on the spot.

The injured were taken for medical treatment, having also sustained multiple bullet injuries.

Following the necessary medico-legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to their families.

The deceased were ide­ntified as Lal Muhammad, Rahim Bakhsh and Abdul Rehman, all hailing from Rojhan Jamali.

The motive behind the killings remains unclear.
