MIANWALI: Four bogies of the Multan-bound Thal Express train got derailed near local railway station here on Tuesday, however, no one got injured in the incident.

As per railway sources, as the passenger train slowed down before entering the platform at the local railway station, its last four bogies packed with passengers got derailed.

Sensing the situation, the locomotive driver applied breaks and halted the train.

Luckily none of the derailed bogies overturned and none of the passengers was injured.

Following the incident, the track was closed for rail traffic and a crane was brought from Kundian Railway junction for clearing it.

Till the filing of this report, the track-clearance operation was in progress.

A railway official told this scribe that the accident happened due to the old railway track which needs to be replaced.
