CHARSADDA: Robbers snatched Rs1.6 million cash from a trader and also shot at and injured him on resistance in Sardheri area here on Monday.

The injured trader, Mohammad Yasin, filed a report with the Sardheri police station, stating that he owned a plastic wholesale shop in the Sardheri Bazaar.

He said he was going home on a motorcycle after recovering Rs1.6 million from other shopkeepers when three unknown robbers stopped him in Barukhel area, and snatched the money from him.

He said they opened fire and injured him when he resisted the robbery attempt. He said the robbers escaped the spot on a motorcycle.

The police registered a report and started further investigation.

Later, the traders of Sardheri Bazaar pulled down shutters of their shops and staged a demonstration against the robbery.
