DADU, Feb 1: On public complaints Dadu District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar paid a surprise visit to the Civil Hospital here on Friday.

He visited different wards of the hospital and checked their record, including attendance register of the staff.

He found six officials, including doctors, absent from their duties.

The Nazim was briefed by civil surgeon Dr Javed Ahmed Dawachh about the administration of the hospital.

The Nazim heard the problems of the patients. Some patients complained to him that the hospital staff was not providing them costly medicines and was misbehaving with them.

The Nazim warned that during his next visit, if he found any official absent, he would take stern action against him.

The Nazim was accompanied by Dadu DCO Muhammad Qasim Lashari and former MNA Pir Bux Khaskheli.

RALLY: Over 2000 citizens, including workers of social organizations and shopkeepers, took out a rally from the New Chowk to the local press club on Friday.

The rally was taken out in favour of the police reforms in the province.

The district president, Chamber of Commerce, Dadu, Ghulam Shah Malkani, and the president, District Bar Association Dadu, Muhammad Ramzan Khushik (advocate) led the rally.

WHO TEAM: A team of the WHO, led by Dr Faizullah Kakar, arrived at Dadu on Friday.

The team visited the taluka hospital, Mehar, and the basic health unit, Faridabad, and examined 30 patients of skin disease Cutaneous Leishmaniasis.

ROBBERY: Some 70 armed men attacked the Bhittai coalmine project near the coalmine police station on Friday.

The armed men held all the workers hostage in the quarters and snatched 2 guns, one rifle, 25 cartridges, 40 bullets, a cash of Rs40,000 and machinery of the project worth Rs500,000.
