KARACHI, Feb 1: City Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday extended deadline for owners to remove their constructions hindering enlargement work of Business Recorder Road, till 10th of Muharram.

However, he said all encroachments in way of road expansion project being undertaken between Lasbella and Gurumander would be demolished soon after Ashura.

He extended the deadline following a meeting with area residents who pledged to remove their property provided they are given some time.

Acknowledging the willingness of the people to remove the encroachments themselves, City Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal restrained the relevant authority from taking action against illegal constructions.

He said that the city district government would ensure that people face minimum loss due to the road-expansion project.—PPI
