QUETTA: A suspected terrorist was killed on Wednesday night when the explosive he intended to plant at a place in the Sabzal Road area went off on the way, police said.

Officials claimed the young man, identified as Noor Ali, was carrying the explosive material to his target but it exploded in his hand, killing him on the spot.

Police and officials rushed to the site and shifted the body to a hospital. A police officer said the suspected bomber’s hand was blown up while the face and other parts of the body received injuries.

A CTD official stated, “The blast is being investigated. Probably the killed boy was transporting the explosive material and it detonated accidently. There is no sign of suicide jacket found so far.”

However, sources said the attacker might have a plan to attack some security post or other target but the explosive went off.
