KARACHI, Jan 30: The Pakistan Railways Workers’ Federation on Monday expressed deep concern over the encroachments on the land allotted to the railway employees and demanded removal of the illegal occupation by the land mafia.

Speaking at a gathering of PRWF members, its president Manzoor Razi said that plots on land scheme no. 2a, 7 and 15 were allotted to the railway employees some 20 to 30 years back.

However, the possession of the plots had yet to be given to the legal allottees.

He demanded of the President Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad and other authorities concerned to take appropriate action against the land mafia.

Mr Razi also asked the chief justice of the Sindh High Court to take suo motu notice of the situation.
