MARDAN: Unscheduled and prolonged electricity loadshedding has not only stressed the residents out but also badly affected the professions dependant on power supply, people from different walks of life here complained.

Yousaf Khan, a resident of Par Hoti area, alleged that it had become a routine for the last few days that the Peshawar Electric Supply Company officials carried out outages for about 18 to 20 hours.

He lamented that the hours long loadshedding had perturbed residents, particularly women, elderly and children, who mostly spent their times inside homes.

The residents criticised Pesco officials and the incumbent rulers through videos and messages on social media. They lamented that the relevant officials had failed to take effective steps to resolve the issue.

Mushtaq, an ironsmith, told this scribe that unscheduled outages had disrupted his work for the last few days.

YOUTH CAMPS: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan, plans to launch youth development camps for students regarding their career counseling. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the board officials presided over by the chairman.

The participants were informed that the youth development camps were for male and female students of both the government and private educational institutions.

They were informed that camp for male students would be held from July 23 to 27, and that of female students in August in Galyat area of Abbottabad.
