KARACHI: Bay horse Geo Jalal is likely to reassert his authority by edging past opponents in the Jellybean Cup when it takes place here at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Geo Jalal had to be content with second place in his last outing but managed to finish ahead of challenger grey horse Flag Of Champion. Both the horses will renew their rivalry again in the cup race.

The two horses are among five contenders who will vie for honours in the cup race classified under scale order III, IV and V and will run over four furlongs. The other three contestants are bay horse Hi Alert and stable-mates Royal Command and Royal Administrator.

The cup race is second in a small three-race card drawn for the day.

Bay horse Mandi Choice is expected to produce another sterling performance by grabbing the next race to make it two on the trot.

To be run over four furlongs, the race has been classified under scale order VI and VII. The race has half-a-dozen acceptors.

Mandi Choice had notched up a splendid 10 lengths victory over Mastana in his last appearance on April 16. He is likely to be challenged by bay horse Epsom among others including bay horse Wild Fire.

At the outset, dark bay mare Dolce, formerly Little Darling, looks poised to make amends by winning the opening race under scale order VII and VIII being run over four furlongs. She may be opposed by gelding Faisal Choice among seven starters.

The first race starts at 4:00pm.
