SUKKUR: Shikarpur police claimed to have rescued a hostage who had been kidnapped from Jacobabad one-and-a-half months ago.

According to the police, SSP Shikarpur Amjad Ali Shaikh received confidential information that the kidnappers were relocating the hostage from a specific location in Daro to another place.

Supervising the police operation, the SSP deployed a team led by Khanpur city SHO Syed Fazal Shah.

The team conducted a raid in the Shikarpur area and successfully recovered the hostage, identified as Mashooq Ali, son of Ghulam Sher Marfani, a resident of taluka Thul in Jacobabad district.

SSP Amjad Ali Shaikh informed the media that the victim had fallen into a trap through telephonic communication with a purported woman who asked him to come to the Nazar Waha area in Thul from where he was abducted and taken to Shikarpur.

“We have safely rescued the victim and will hand him over to his family after completing the necessary legal procedures,” stated SHO Shah.

He mentioned that the police had initiated a search operation to apprehend the fleeing kidnappers and assured that they would be arrested soon.

SSP Amjad Ali Shaikh commended the police team for their efficient operation.
