OKARA: Police have arrested a man for making a hoax call on 15 helpline about a “bomb explosion” in a mosque near Haveli Lakkha railway station, creating panic in the area.

As per the first information report (FIR) a Haveli Lakkha police team on routine patrol on Saturday night received a call on police helpline 15 that bomb explosion had occurred in Karmanwala Masjid near Haveli railway station.

On receiving the call, police teams rushed to the mosque, but on reaching the spot they found that no explosion had occurred there.

Some locals told the police that someone had displayed fireworks.

The police traced the suspect, identified as Shan Ali, through his mobile phone number and arrested him, registering a case against him under section 29-D of The Telegraph Act 1885.
