The Lahore High Court has ordered Punjab Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar to apprise it of progress on the recovery of anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan by tomorrow.

LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti expressed his dissatisfaction over the police’s progress in the case. “The police have done nothing till now […] The police wrote letters to the agencies and went home to sleep.”

Justice Bhatti then summoned the Punjab IG to appear in court within two hours. When he appeared, Dr Anwar told the court that the Inter-Services Intelligence was assisting the police with the case and that he had talked to the Intelligence Bureau as well.

He offered to constitute a “special team” and sought further time to complete the investigation.
