The Islamabad police have claimed to have detained over 500 people for “acts of violence” during protests following PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9.

In a tweet, it said that property worth Rs250 million was damaged in the demonstrations, while 12 vehicles and 34 motorcycles were torched, including the SP Industrial office.

The police further revealed that 11 Frontier Corps personnel and 71 police officers were injured during the protests. “So far, 24 cases have been registered against evil elements.”
